Terms and Conditions for Guests

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully and all other relevant information before booking. Any booking made will be subject to these Terms and Conditions. In these Terms and Conditions ‘you’ and ‘your’ means all persons named in your booking email. ‘We’, ‘us’, and ‘our’ means Jon and Amanda Coldridge. Unless the context otherwise requires words in the singular shall include the plural and vice versa.

Your Contract

Once the booking email is received confirming the booking a contract is made between you and us. It is your responsibility to check your emails regularly and to advise of any change to your email address.

Guest

All bookings are made subject to availability. The person booking (Party Leader) must be at least 18 years of age and have the requisite legal capability and authority to enter into a contract at the time of booking. By making the booking the Party Leader confirms that he/she has authority to book on behalf of the party and that all other party members agree that the booking is subject to these Terms and Conditions.

Payment

All payments should be made to us in the manner specified on the booking confirmation email. Bookings are considered provisional until the required deposit is paid. The booking will be held for 24 hours and the  deposit must be made within this period otherwise the booking will be deemed to have lapsed.  Non-payment of the balance of the rent on or before the due date shall be construed as a cancellation of the contract by you. If the booking is made within 60 days of the arrival date payment must be made in full. If not, a 50% deposit is required at the point of booking and the remaining amount payable 60 days prior to arrival together with a damage deposit. Damage deposits will be refunded within 14 days of your check out date. There is a strict no refund policy, so we therefore recommend you take out adequate insurance if you think there is a likelihood that your circumstances may change.

Your obligations

You agree to the following:
a) To inform us before departure of any breakages, losses or damage caused by you to the property or its facilities.
b) To take all reasonable and proper care of the property and leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of your holiday.
c) To inform the Owner of any problems with the facilities or services as soon as they become apparent.
d) To permit the Owner or representatives reasonable access to the property to carry out urgent maintenance.
e) Not to sublet or share the property except with the persons included at the booking or subsequently included by agreement. The maximum number of persons allowed at the property is clearly stated and must not be exceeded.
f) Not to do or omit to do something which may be or become a nuisance to neighbouring holiday accommodation or properties.
g) Not to allow smoking by any of your party or invited guest in any part of the property. The Owner reserves the right to terminate hire without notice and without refund where this condition is breached.

Pets

Pets are not allowed at the property. The Owner reserves the right to terminate hire without notice and without refund where this condition is breached.

Caring for your safety and comfort

We make every reasonable effort to indicate possible safety hazards below. It is however your responsibility to inspect the property and grounds immediately upon arrival and note any possible hazards. Please check the layout of the property so that you have a planned route to exit the property as easily as possible in the event of an emergency.

This property is located on a mountainside which can hold its own hazards when covered in snow!  It is highly recommended during winter to have winter tyres or snow chains.  If you hire a vehicle from the Swiss side of Geneva airport this will happen automatically as all vehicles are fitted with winter tyres. In the case of a snowstorm we have a contract with a local snowplough company who clear the driveway on the same day. The road at the end of our drive is always cleared early in the morning. In the summer cows graze the neighbouring fields and there is often electric fencing.

Access to the chalet’s front door is up a flight of steps. There is no hand rail but the external steps are heated so that they are easier to clear, please take care when using them, in spite of the heating they can be slippery. The property can also be exited at ground level through the garage (with electric garage doors) to avoid external steps if preferred after a heavy snowstorm.

There is a good sized garden accessed from the side of the house and also from the kitchen terrace. It is not suitable for leaving young children unsupervised as there are some steep slopes. At the front of the property there is a wall with a severe and dangerous drop. If you stick to the level part of the garden the risks are minimal. if you have any questions please call.

On the upper floor there are several low beams to be aware of. One over the master en-suite bath and the other over a bed. Please take care!

The property has an abundance of wood and many of the walls are covered in wood. Please be careful to avoid splinters and be diligent if you light any candles not to leave them unattended. You are welcome to light the log burner and use the supply of wood available to you next to the front door, but ensure that the door of the wood burner is firmly closed when lit. it is not designed to be left open and could pose a serious hazard.

Please be vigilant when using the hot tub. The lid needs to be on the hot tub when it is not in use as it will cool down quickly and is a hazard for young children. Access to the hot tub is from two of the downstairs bedrooms which would benefit from being locked when children are unaccompanied.  No one should try and climb onto the lid of the hot tub as it is not designed for this and could be dangerous.

Complaints

If you do have a cause for complaint regarding the property or the actions of us or our representatives please inform us as soon as the problem arises to enable the problem to be resolved straight away. We are very keen to provide high standards and make your stay as enjoyable as possible but if the problem is not resolved or you remain unhappy with the response you must rely on any statutory rights you have. Any formal complaint in writing must to be sent within 7 days of the end of your rental period.
